Biofungicide is made up of beneficial fungi and bacteria that colonize and assail plant pathogens, thereby thwarting the diseases they cause. These microorganisms are commonly and naturally found in soil. Additionally, using biofungicides in gardens as an incorporated disease management program reduces the risk of pathogens becoming resistant to chemical fungicides.
Mycorrhizae are symbiotic relationships that form between fungi and plants. The fungi colonize the root system of a host plant, providing increased water and nutrient absorption capabilities while the plant provides the fungus with carbohydrates formed from photosynthesis.
PRO-MIX B is a finely ground potting soil that I use to germinate small seeds. I use this in plug flats for starting seeds.
PRO-MIX BX is a medium ground potting soil that I use to germinate medium and large seeds. I also use this to transplant small seedlings from plug flats to larger pot flats.
When I plant the seedlings raised with these potting soils I am inoculating my soil with Biofungicide and Mycorrhizae.
I started my cooler weather vegetable plants March 1st.
